Ladder League is a MatchUp format that generates a round robin event for players grouped into ladders. At the end of each round, the top player from each ladder group will be promoted to a higher ladder (except for ladder group 1) and the bottom player will be relegated to a lower ladder (except for the bottom ladder group)*.
From the Players (or Draw) tab, select the players for the event. Players can be selected from any group for this event and matches will be arranged based on the ladder group assigned from within the Draw tab.
From the Draw tab,
select the Ladder League Singles or Ladder League Doubles format.
the number of courts should be selected, and should be sufficient for all matches to be played in parallel.
select the number of ladder groups you require (between 2 & 9).
To arrange players into ladder groups, tap on the first row in the table. The list of players will be displayed. Press the "Reassign all players to ladders" button to randomly assign players to the number of ladder groups specified. Or drag and drop players to a ladder group as required.
For a doubles event, the number of players in a ladder group must be 4, 5, 8 or 9. With 5 and 9 players, each player will receive one bye. The number of games in each round is determined by the number of players in a ladder group as it is a true round robin where you partner with every other player. For example, 4 players = 3 matches, 8 players = 7 matches.
For a singles event, the number of players in a ladder group must be a least 3.
Once round 1 matches have been generated, save the event.
From the Saved Event tab:
enter the scores for the round
once all scores have been recorded for the round, the Leaderboard will show who will be promoted and who will be relegated from each ladder group for the next round. Tap on the 'round selector' at the bottom of view to see the leaderboard results from each round. Total points is used to determine the leaderboard positions for promotion/relegation.
press the "Generate Next Round" button generate another round. This button is disabled until all scores have been recorded for the latest round. The 'Undo' button will delete a round.
a player can be substituted for a round. Where a player is substituted in the latest round, that player will be carried through to the next round.
Generate a many rounds as you like. The standard reports are available for this format. The Match Report shows the Matches and Leaderboard by round number order.
*Where there is more than 5 players in a ladder group, the top/bottom 2 players will be promoted/relegated.
Select the players & courts. Select the 'Ladder League Doubles' or 'Ladder League Singles' format. Select the number of ladder groups for event.
Place the players into Ladder Groups. Randomly assign by pressing the button, or drag and drop.
Ready.
Now press the 'Go' button to generate the first round.
The matches are sorted by Ladder Group. Save the event from the menu button.
Enter Scores. Generate another round where players have been promoted/relegated.
Tap on Leaderboard button to display the ladder results. Use the selector at the bottom to see results by round number.
