MatchUp stores a copy of your players and saved events in iCloud. MatchUp DOES NOT automatically sync data between devices, but updates made on one device can be applied to another device via iCloud. How you manage multiple devices is up to you.
When you open a device for the first time and no players have been added, if players exist in an iCloud backup, you can choose to restore some or all of them. The same process applies to saved events.*
Important: Applying an update from an iCloud backup is permanent and cannot be undone.
You can see a listing of players and events with updates in the iCloud Data Restore view under the Settings tab.
*Not available in the Free version.
Whenever a player is added or modified, a snapshot of the player is saved as a file in iCloud. When a player is deleted, they will no longer appear in the player listing but can be restored for up to 30 days. After 30 days, the player is permanently removed.
If you view or edit a player profile and a more recent update exists on another device, you will be notified and given the option to apply the latest changes. The device where the update was made is listed in the iCloud Data Restore view, allowing you to compare records before applying the update. You can search by player name or device.
From the iCloud Data Restore page (Settings → iCloud Data Restore → Players), the following sections are provided when applicable:
Updated On Another Device
A player exists on this device but has been modified on another device. Tap the cloud button to update it on this device.
Not On This Device
These are players entered on another device that do not yet exist on this device. You can download all players at once or individually by tapping the cloud button.
Deleted On This Device
The player has been deleted on this device within the last 30 days and is available for restore. After 30 days, the deletion becomes permanent. You can also permanently delete the player immediately by swiping right and selecting Delete.
Deleted On Another Device
The player has been deleted on another device but still exists on this device. Tapping the trash button will delete it from this device and move it to the Deleted On This Device section.
When an event is saved, a copy is stored in an iCloud backup file. All changes made to the event from the Saved Events tab are updated in the backup file.
If you open a saved event and a more recent update exists on another device, you will be notified and can apply the latest changes. The device where the update was made is listed in the iCloud Data Restore view, so you can compare records before applying the update. You can search by event name or device.
